It's basically a typical smoke photograph. To make a smoke photograph you need a source of light (the best would be flashlight, but you can always think your own ways ) and a camera. One of these should have high speed options. I don't know how about your shutter speed, but I think that you should set it to the highest availible. The source of light can be a desk lamp then. But the better way is to borrow or buy a flashlight, or a stroboscope. You can use slow shutter speed then .
I would need to have three different flashlights (or powerful lightbulbs) guided to certain places of the smoke. It's hard, because you will never know how the smoke will react. Will it tilt, will it shift?
I'm not saying it's impossible, because it would be a lie, but as for me, it's too hard for now :/.
